We give away the core of every product we build. Not because we're generous — because open source is the most durable way for a small company to earn trust and distribution.

The logic

A small business owner evaluating an AI tool has one real question: can I trust this with my work? Closed software asks them to take that on faith. Open source lets them read every line, run it on their own infrastructure, and never depend on us to keep the lights on.

That trust is the top of our funnel. People who self-host and love a product are the people who upgrade to Cloud when they'd rather not run it themselves.

What we charge for

• Integrations — connect it to the tools your team already uses.
• Team features — seats, shared libraries, analytics.

The insight is free. The leverage is paid. That split keeps our incentives aligned with the people who use our software.
